Pushing the Boat Out

About Pushing the Boat Out

A short daily read on sailing: yachts, yacht and dinghy racing, the Royal Yachting Association and the coastguard.

Where the stories come from

Each morning we gather the day's reports on six topics (sailing, yachts, yacht racing, dinghy racing, the RYA and the coastguard) from news alerts across the web. An editor reads through them and picks the ones worth your time.

How they are written

Every story is a summary in our own words, between 150 and 250 words, with the facts first and a short note on why it matters to sailors. Each one links to the original report, which is always the better source for the full account. Our summaries are drafted with the help of AI and published on the editor's say-so.

Independence

Pushing the Boat Out is independent. It is not affiliated with the RYA, HM Coastguard, the RNLI or any club, class association, event or manufacturer, and it takes no advertising.
